Oklahoma Head Coach Bob Stoops: |

The 2006 Dr Pepper Big 12 Football Championship returned to Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City on Dec. 2. The 11th edition of the battle for the league title was played at the home of the NFL's Kansas City Chiefs for the fourth time in league history in a venue that seats more than 75,000 fans.

Oklahoma has won three of the four match-ups played in the City of Fountains. The Sooners have won the last two contests there, posting a win over Nebraska (21-7) this season along with a 42-3 victory over Colorado in 2004. Other games in Arrowhead were in 2003 (Kansas State 35, Oklahoma 7) and 2000 (Oklahoma 27, Kansas State 24).

OU has won the most Big 12 title games with four championships. Nebraska and Texas are the only other squads to win multiple crowns with two each, while Colorado, Kansas State and Texas A&M have one apiece. The Sooners have the most title game appearances with five, followed by Nebraska (4) and Texas (4). Colorado and Kansas State are next with three appearances each.

The winner of the Dr Pepper Big 12 Football Championship Game earns the league's automatic berth into the Bowl Championship Series. The 2007 contest will be held at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas on December 1.
